What we believe

THE BIBLE.
We believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God. It is fully inspired by God and fully authoritative in ALL life's matters. It is sufficient for all teaching and reproof (2 Timothy 3:16). As disciples of Jesus Christ, we believe we are called to obey God's word (John 14:15). That even means the hard stuff. For example, it's incredibly hard to love our enemies and to bless those who persecute us (Matt. 5:43-48).  If we're honest, sometimes it doesn't make sense. BUT, we do not have authority over what the scriptures say, it has authority over us. And even though it's hard, even confusing, we still must submit to it. We believe God to be perfect. Since God is perfect, we believe what's written in God's Word is his perfect desire for imperfect people.

THE TRINITY
We believe God exists in three persons known as the Trinity. God exists as God the Father, God the Son - who is Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19). Each person of the Trinity is separate, but one God (John 15:26). They exist in equality with each other.  God has existed in this form from the beginning of time (Gen. 1:26).

SIN
Sin is missing the mark. It's anything that separates us from God. All people are sinful from birth and in need of saving (Romans 3:23). In Old Testament days, the purest animal was sacrificed as a blood atonement for the sins of
the people (Lev. 4:1-5:13)(Lev. 6:24-30). But Jesus came and became this sacrifice for all who accept his grace,
once and for all (Romans 3:25).

SALVATION
Salvation comes through Jesus Christ, and Him alone. If you're not sure who Jesus is, check out our Jesus page.  Jesus Christ came down from Heaven in the form of a man to become a necessary sacrifice for the salvation of all people (John 3:16). It is God's desire that all people be saved. (1 Timothy 2:3-6) But, not all people will be saved, as some will refuse the truth of Christ and God will reject them. (Matt. 7:21) (2 Thess. 2: 10-12) No person can be saved by any work of themselves, but rather, by the gift of God's grace, alone. (Eph. 2:8-9) This sacrifice of Christ also serves as the way into the new covenant God has given his people. (Hebrews 9:15) This Covenant requires that Christ followers live in obedience to him; and for his part, he will forgive their sins and restore them to a right relationship with himself, which leads to eternal life. (Luke 22:20)(Romans 6:23)
