FAMILY FOCUS SUNDAY
Our July Family Focus will be on July 27th. We have something special in the works, but need to finalize some details…so stay tuned!
Mark your calendars now, you won’t wanna miss it!

what is church

First and foremost, our understanding of church (Ecclesia) is a gathering or body of people. That means that all people who profess Jesus as Lord and believe in their heart that God raised him to life after his death on the cross are members of God's church (Romans 10:9-12). When we profess this, we are claiming to the world that we are Christ followers...his disciples. Our denominations are simply another name by which we associate and are recognized. For better or worse, this is the way it is. We don't see denominations as something to divide us, but simply places we naturally gather with like-minded people. It's the human way. The collective body of Christ is much greater than any one denominational body. We believe the more ecumenical we can be, the more we become like the true church God intended us to be in the scriptures (Eph. 4:4-6). In Christ, we are one group of people with different names (Gal. 3:28). We are all family. We are all members of Christ's church, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, but we just don't all reside under the same roof.

Sometimes we are messy people and just like families, we fight. Sometimes we are full of love and grace, offering those we differ with mercy and forgiveness. We are all human and thankfully, we are all forgiven by the grace of God. We believe the more often we remember that, the more we can accomplish in a broken world that so desperately needs Christ.

We believe it's our calling to be that type of church. No matter your past or current situation, you are loved and you are welcome here. If you would like to learn more about us, and would like to let us get to know you, then click the link below and fill out a "Connect" card. We can't wait to have you as a part of our church family!
